Dear Mack,
Thank you for the straight forward answer to the question if homeowners ins. is tax deductable.
I'm having a disagreement with a friend of mine who filed his taxes online and he said there was a line that asked for the amount of his homeowners ins. to be deducted.
My question is why if it's on an online form, I don't see it on my itemized deduction schedule A form. He said it went under his itemized deduction section. I hope he's not mistaking mortgage ins. for homeowners.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

 Sincerely,
 Marguerite Rhatigan

After all the research I've been doing on trying to exit my lease that first option that you presented is oddly one of the better options I was coming to myself, having not read your article - it was starting to make sense that paying off $5k at a low interest rate would be better than paying my lease payment. It's painful to the think about though, that this really is my best option since, oddly, I don't really trust those swap a lease or lease transfer websites - I don't like the idea of having to pay money just to post the car. I think it should be pay upon completion only, then I would do it in a heartbeat. Just a further thought.

Thanks but I have done my research. I have used them myself and it was a great savings! No problems at all, so that is my experience.

Eb, right, large losses are all around us right now, but some years there are large gains, much more than 12%... it is a planning tool. It depends on what you are invested in, and such. History confirms the 12%. Whether or not we get that in the future is anyone's guess. I am sure people back in the 70's would say the same thing, yet anyone who lived through the 70's and 80's knows what happened to the market.

This is great, but what about years such as 2008, where large losses were posted?

Well, calling a person a fool is a real adult thing, I must admit. Instead of taking my website down I think I'll write more truth about term life insurance. You should get your own website and write whatever you think to be true. But as you can see, I let your comment through ( even though calling a person a fool and then expecting them to approve your comment is a little out there) as I think everyone should investigate and do whatever they think best.

gulfview00@aol.com You are a fool. Just like I would never say a person always needs whole life or universal insurance, I would never say you only need term insurance in every case. That is like saying that everyone only needs to buy one stock, or have one type of mortgage. True financial planning looks at a person's short term and long term needs. What will this insurance be used for, what specific needs are going to be met with this particular policy? With higher net worth individuals single premium or even better a five or seven pay life insurance plan can be not only a great way of taking care of life insurance needs but it can be a fantastic investment. There is no such thing as one single fix. I suggest you take your website down and rethink your advice.

Faith is necessary as a cornerstone of understanding God and understanding how you can "give money to God". You are right if you are saying God owns it all anyway. But you may be missing the point that God allows us the freedom to work and strive and acquire things here on earth. He gives us the freedom to show Him that we love Him by having the faith to "give back a portion" of what we have made. True, we should use good judgment , but also it is a matter of faith. Can God direct your giving to where He wants it to go? Did He create the universe? I think He can handle it, but faith is first.
