Is Entrecard Traffic Worth a Dime?
I just don’t know. It would seem with all the traffic that it would be worth something, money wise. I just don’t see it though. I am new, so there is a lot I don’t understand about monetizing a blog. To me, it would seem that if Entrecard users had similar ideas about gaining traffic and such, there would be more serious looks at our blogs and more actual looks at advertisers. I don’t mean just clicking an ad for the sake of doing it. But we could actually spend some time on each others blog and if ads were interesting, maybe check some out? Pay per click ads don’t pay that much but they do pay and I don’t see any of the traffic I get from Entrecard checking any ads out.
When I go to Entrecard sites and drop my card, I try to look around and usually some of their advertising looks appealing, so I don’t mind clicking through. I seriously check out the advertiser, look around a bit, and move on.
I just don’t understand why is not so among more of “us”. What do you think? Do you just visit Entrecard sites quickly , find the card, drop yours and leave? Is it really accomplishing anything if we all do that?
Tell me what you think about this.

I would agree that most Entrecard users drop their card and run. I have found blogs through Entrecard that I have became a regular reader of.
My RSS subscribers have grown a little. If I gain any new readers from Entrecard it is worth it for free advertising.
Entrecard gets yours name and brand in front of readers.
Thanks Debby. Yes , you are right. All traffic is good. I don’t have many regular readers yet. I do think we all need to stop a second and look at the site before we drop the card. I have found some good blogs to read through Entrecard, I am just not sure how much time I will spend with it in the future. I have so much to do!!!
Thanks again for coming by and I just checked out your site. Very professional! I will have to spend some time there soon.
I’ve gotten a few repeat readers from Entrecard, so it has been worth it…at first, I visited a lot of sites, and just dropped card, while scanning the blog quickly. Those that dropped back, I went back to, and took a longer look. Some interested me, some did not. I’ve started commenting regularly on some of them. If I like a blog, or even just a post, I may click an ad that I find somewhat interesting, which Ben at Tenacious Creations dubs “blog tipping”. I will suggest one thing…I have ads on my site, but they are minimal…if there are TOO many text ads (like adsense often is), I get lost trying to find the article/post I’m reading, because the ads are too distracting. Leave enough that they catch your eye, but not enough that it takes so long to sift the ads from the content.
Hey Steve. Thanks for adding some good info here. You are right that some sites have so many ads it’s hard to find the ‘meat’. I have consulted with some fairly successful bloggers and they advised me to get rid of all the numerous ads I had and just do one type until my blog was more successful. My goal is to get a bunch more relevant search engine traffic. Thanks again.
