I did not file self employment but then did witch cost over 900.00 to file with jackson Hewitt .My ducks are in a roll as some say with the IRS . I should have recived as did others .Thank You for your moment.

My husband and I filed our 2008 taxes the other day and were told by our preparer that we will be getting the remainder of our stimulus check soon (We only got $750 last spring, not the 1,200 and do not owe money to the gov.). I would like to know if this is true and if so when will they start sending the checks? Thank you.

I am still in a state of shock that I did not qualify for last year’s stimulus check! I earn slightly over $100,000 – I am a homeowner and a single mother (2 kids) and while I am not struggling, I am certainly not living a life of leisure. How does this government justify giving a check to deadbeats who earned ZERO income and not to a hard-working single mother??!!! I am sure I will get shafted on this next stimulus check as well!

Me and my husband were deployed to iraq. The tax person said we will get or Stimulus check soon and still nothing! I called the IRS hotline and it saids that we do not make enough as if we have low income. i was like WHAT!!! We are both E-5 (SGTs) and been in the Army for 5 yrs…. we make good money!SO LOW INCOME>???? I know privates who received their check and people who out rank me who have received it so i do not get this. Everyone saids that i shoulg call IRS but they will put me on hold for forever or transfer me to everyone in the bldg who all nothing!!! WHAT DO I DO??? Am i missing something here!!!

Can someone clarify this for me? I heard that if you did not receive a stimulus check this spring/summer you will actually get it when you file next winter? I heard that this is because this is just and “advance” of a single year tax break for filing our 2008 returns. If so, that would be nice, since I graduated in 2007, and as such my parents claimed me.Any help would be appreciated.

Comment from Mack:Craig, I don’t believe you will get any stimulus check in any form if you were claimed as a dependent in 2007. That is my understanding. The whole talk about this being an ‘advance” is just a way for the gov’t to pay for this and account for it in the 2008 tax returns.

I / we are eligible to receive a stimulus check, however I never received a letter or check, and some one told me that it could be because my wife never changed her name with Social Security. Is this possibly true? It has just been an over sight and as far as her number, we’ve been filing jointly since 2002. So why would it matter just because she did not change her name? Besides that I can’t figure out we would not have received a check. Thank you.

I got a letter saying mine was coming in a couple of days in mid-July. Never got it. Filed my taxes as normal. I was supposed to get mine late, but it was supposed to come eventually.

I am not getting my Stimulus check according to the IRS because my married name is not on my SS Card. However, I got my tax return back.

my parents are getting retirement and social sec checks should they get stimulus check.
Answer:
Dray, It is hard to say.. First, did they file a tax return? I would assume so, but if no tax return, no check. I would thikn they would get at least the minimum 300 dollars. Maybe try to call the IRS ?

I was qualified to get a stimulus check from the Government, and I didn’t get one. I found out 2 months after I was supposed to get it that, since my parents FILED my taxes for me (because I didn’t know how), I was not able to get one just for that reason. The government should of made the decision earlier or let us know what MIGHT happen so that ALL of us get our checks. Even if we’re ledgible or not for.

REPLY from Mack: Megan, if your parents filed for you, is it possible that they also claimed you as a dependent? If so, you would not qualify. I am just suggesting why .. Just because your parents filed for you, that should not “dis-qualify” you.
